Transfer inventory stock
Use the Find and Transfer Items window to find items and transfer them to another location. This feature is for practices set up with Multi-location inventory.
Before you start

Setup
- Multi-location inventory turned on
- Inventory defaults
- Inventory items, set to maintain quantity on hand
- Inventory Locations
- Inventory Groups (optional)
Important!
- This feature is for multi-location inventory only.
Transfer items from one location to another
Navigate to:
- Inventory > Find and Transfer Items
- Inventory > Purchasing Work List > Go to Transfer.

- In the Transfer to area, from the Location drop-down list, select the location to transfer quantity on hand into. Items that are below their reorder points display in red.
Note: By default, only items at or below their reorder points display for this location. To view all items at the location, click Show only items that are low, to clear the checkbox. - Click on the item you want to restock.
- If the item you want to restock does not display in the list, in the Item box, enter the name of the item and click Search.
- Click on the item and click Select.

- Click Add Item. The item displays at the bottom of the list in the Transfer to area.

- In the Transfer from area, do one of the following:
- From the Show group drop-down list, select All locations.
- If you use groups and want to search by a specific group, select the group from the drop-down list instead.
- In the Transfer qty column, do the following:
- Type or select the quantity to transfer from the location. You can transfer the item from multiple locations.
- If you use supply locations, suggested transfer quantities from the supply locations display in the Transfer qty column. If you do not want to transfer all of the suggested quantities, type or select the quantity you want to transfer from each location.
- Click Transfer. The transferred quantity displays in the Qty on hand column in parentheses, indicating the quantity has been transferred.

- Click one of the following:
- Save: Save the transfers. You can view saved transfers on the Stock Transfer List window.
- View details: Review items that are being transferred. If you want to delete any item from the list, click the item and click Delete.
- Cancel: Return to the previous window without saving transfers.
View or print a stock transfer list
Print a Stock Transfer List to assist staff when they move items from one location to another. Saved transfers display on the list.
Navigate to Inventory > Stock Transfer List.

- In the Search for a transfer area, enter any of the following:
- Date range
- The location items were transferred to
- Transfer status: All, Confirmed, or Unconfirmed
- Click Search.
- Click the transfer line in the list, and then click one of the following:
- View Details: View the details for the stock transfer.
- Confirm Transfer: Confirm the stock transfer.
Note: Stock transfer can be set to auto-confirm in Inventory defaults.
Additional information
Inventory column headings
- The order of column headings in inventory windows can be changed by left clicking the column header and dragging the columns to the desired order. Columns will be saved in the preferred order, per user. You can also:
- Click a column header description to sort the window by the column’s value.
Example: Vendor, classification, etc. - Right click the column header row and add and remove columns.

- Columns can be restored to their original settings.
- Click a column header description to sort the window by the column’s value.
Other information to view

Click on/highlight the inventory item to view, then click the tabs for the indicated information.
- Item History: View an item’s previous purchase history
- Item Information: View information like quantity on hand (QOH), on order, base price, and unit of measure (UOM) for an item
- Stock Locations: Find out how much of an item is in stock at other locations
Note: This option is available for practices that have multi-location inventory (MLI) turned on.
