Frequently asked questions
What happens if a workstation upgrade fails?
Should a workstation upgrade fail, you may upgrade the workstation manually by opening Cornerstone, and following the on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade.
What will I see on my computer when it’s upgrading?
You may see the Cornerstone icons disappear and reappear on the desktop as the upgrade progresses. Additionally, your computers will all restart one hour before your chosen upgrade time, and the server will restart once during the upgrade process. At that time, an on-screen message will be displayed notifying users that the reboot is about to take place.
What if someone is using the computer during its scheduled upgrade?
Prior to the upgrade, your computers will all restart, and the server will restart once during the upgrade as well. If anyone is using the computer at those times, they will be prompted 5 minutes before the restart occurs to save their work. Other than the restarts, users can use the computers for anything other than Cornerstone during the upgrade process if necessary.
Why are some of the dates grayed out on the scheduling calendar?
The MyCornerstone Upgrade Service does not allow an upgrade to be scheduled within 24 hours from the current time to allow enough time for the files to be deployed to your computers. You cannot schedule further than 15 days out to ensure that your computers are as up-to-date as possible.
What do I do if my computers are not qualified?
In some instances, Cornerstone Support may be able to override unqualified computers and complete the upgrade. For example, you may have a computer that has been running Cornerstone without issue, but is slightly below the recommended memory requirements.
You may also consider upgrading individual workstations via traditional upgrade routes. See the complete installation instructions for more information.
Is there an additional fee to use the MyCornerstone Upgrade Service?
No. The MyCornerstone Service is included in your active Cornerstone support agreement.
