Make a copy of your database
It is recommended to do a backup prior to a purge or mass markup, as they cannot be reversed. The following steps will create a copy of your Cornerstone database in the IDEXX folder of the drive your Cornerstone software is installed on. Example: C:\IDEXX, D:\IDEXX, etc.
How to make a database copy
- Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will open a run command window.
- Type C:\Cstone\csdbback.bat.
Note: If your Cornerstone software is not installed on the C drive, substitute the correct letter of the drive. Example: D:\cstone - Click Ok.
- Check C:\IDEXX (or applicable drive) to ensure the copy was successful. There will be a .db and .log file with the date and time the backup began.

- For Cornerstone 9.5 and above, this may need to be run with windows administrator access.
