Start request from the invoice or patient visit list

Invoice items set up to initiate the Image Request special action will activate an Image Request when the item is added to the Patient Visit List (PVL) or invoice for a patient.

Note: Image Requests must be activated and the Use Special Actions option must be enabled in imaging defaults. In addition, your imaging invoice items must be set up to initiate the Image Request special action.

Navigate to either of the following:

  • Patient Clipboard > right click the patients name > Patient Visit List > Add an invoice item to the Patient Visit List.
  • Patient Clipboard > right click the patients name > Invoice > Add an invoice item to the invoice.

The Image request window displays.

  1. Select the staff responsible for the image request by typing the staff ID or selecting the staff from the drop-down list. Press Tab.
  2. Enter an item ID by either typing the ID or pressing F2 to search for and select the item from the Invoice Item List.
Note: To delete an item. Click on the item’s Item ID field and press Ctrl+D.
  3. If needed, change the price for the item in the Amount field.
Note: You may not be allowed to change the item’s pricing, based on the Allow change setting for this item, or you may be required to select a price change reason.
  4. In the Center field, type the revenue center ID or press F2 to search for and select from the Revenue Center List.
  5. Enter the shots to be captured and any notes, in the Exam Description field, up to 64 characters.
Tip: For Multi-location Single Database (MSLD) or department-based practices, begin your exam description with your practice location ID or hospital/department initials. Then, click on the exam description column header to group all image requests by practice.
Note: For the best image-capture experience, IDEXX recommends using one invoice item for all shots needed. For each invoice item line added to the Image Request and Results window, a separate image request occurs.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Capture the images in the appropriate imaging software.
