IDEXX in-house diagnostics: Setup custom profiles

You can create a custom profile that contains a group of tests you routinely perform together and that you associate with only one charge.

Before you start

  • Set Security

    • Lab Profile Information

This feature applies to IDEXX -In-house laboratories only.

Setup custom lab profiles

Navigate to Activities > Lab Work > Profiles.

  1. Click New.
  2. From the Lab drop-down list, select INCLINIC.
  3. Enter a name for the custom profile. It can be the same as the name of the invoice item.
    Tip: Choose a name that lets your staff easily identify what this profile contains.
  4. From the Profile type drop-down list, change to Test, if needed. Note: Profile/Panel most commonly used.
  5. Select Include in Favorites list, if appropriate. The Favorites list displays when using the request entry workflow for IDEXX in-house diagnostics.
  6. Select Can be requested. This ensures the profile can be requested when using the request entry workflow for IDEXX In-house diagnostics.
  7. In the Tests/subprofiles table, click in the Type column, and select Subprofile (Group of tests, Ex: Chem17 Clip) or Test (Single slide, Ex: GLU). Press Tab.
  8. Double-click in the Profile Name or Test Name field to search for the profile or test. The cursor will be in the field based on selecting profile or test in prior step.
    • For profiles, uncheck Only profiles that can be selected, so you can see the entire profile list.
    • For tests, the window will include all tests for IDEXX in-house diagnostics.
  9. Click Select to add the item to the test/profile. Repeat until you have added all tests and profiles to the custom profile.
  10. In the Invoice items table, double-click in the ID column to search for and select the invoice item for the selected test or profile. Click Select to add the item to the test/profile. Add additional items, if needed. If more than one invoice item is available, select the invoice item you want as the default for the auto-billing feature.
  11. Click OK.
