Additional Information
Check-in defaults
- Check-in defaults for reason for visit, room and staff are best left as none or blank when using appointments as your primary method of checking in patients.
- This is to prevent accidently checking in patients with the wrong reason, room or staff.
- A default staff ID is recommended for single doctor practices only.
- Using check in date for compliance is recommended for assessing compliance based on seeing patients (checked in) vs. billing (invoicing) only.
- Set the check in report to give the medical team a current snapshot of the typical patient. Patients with fewer visits will display less information and medically intensive patients will display more.
- The range selection for patient information and history will only show history from the patient record that is within the defined period. If using the # of lines to print, less information than defined may display.
Example: The last 12 months of prescriptions, lab information and callbacks is selected as 10 lines to print. A patient with a history intensive record for the past 12 months will only display 10 lines in date order comprised of prescriptions, lab information and callbacks, even though additional entries for selected history types exist within the 12-month definition.
