Estimate messages

Learn how to setup a list of messages to be used on estimates at your practice. Messages can be added, edited or removed while creating or updating an estimate for the patient. Multiple messages can be included on an estimate.

Important!

  • While duplicate estimate message descriptions are allowed, message IDs must be unique.
  • Estimate message IDs can be modified after the message is created.

Set up messages

Navigate to Controls > Estimate Messages.

  1. Click New.
  2. Enter a message ID (up to 7 alphanumeric characters).
  3. Enter an estimate message Description (up to 65 characters/spaces)
  4. Enter Message text. Use Ctrl + Enter to start a new line, if needed.
  5. Click OK.

Once set up, add messages to estimates as needed at time of use and set which message(s) are included automatically on every estimate in estimate defaults.

Modify messages

Navigate to Controls > Estimate Messages.

  1. Select message and click Update.
  2. Modify the message ID, if needed (up to 7 alphanumeric characters).
  3. Modify the estimate message Description, if needed (up to 65 characters/spaces)
  4. Modify the Message text. Use Ctrl + Enter to start a new line, if needed.
  5. Click OK.

If the message is linked to estimate defaults, it will be display with updated ID, if it was modified.

Delete messages

Navigate to Controls > Estimate Messages.

  1. Select message and click Delete.
  2. Click Yes or No to confirm.

If the message is linked to estimate defaults, it will be removed.

Using estimate messages

Create an estimate and click Save or OK.

  1. Click Messages on the Save Estimate window.
  2. Any messages linked in estimate defaults will display. Preview text in the Message lines field.
  3. Click Note to open the message text and edit, if needed.
    • Use Ctrl + Enter to start a new line.
    • Click Spell Check to address any spelling errors.
    • Click OK to return to Estimate Messages window.
  4. Add additional messages as needed by doing one of the following:
    • Entering the estimate message ID in the ID field
    • Press F2 to search and select a message from the Estimate Message List.
  5. Click Note to open the message text and edit, if needed.
  6. Remove messages as needed by clicking in the ID field and press Ctrl + D.
  7. Use the onscreen arrow buttons to change the order of the messages that display on the estimate.
  8. To print the message(s) on a separate page from the actual estimate, select Print estimate messages on a separate page check box.
  9. Click OK to return to the Save Estimate dialog box and continue setting the Save Estimate options, or printing or emailing the estimate, as needed.
